Abstract
In developing a topic, such as this, on the political ideas of a leader of a nation, one is confronted with a great field of details. Every great political leader is faced with so many problems, many of which are of minor importance, that it would be impossible to do justice to all of them. Therefore, in writing this thesis it is my earnest endeavor to limit myself to the fundamental political ideas of the great president. In treating these fundamental ideas, we must ever be mindful of the fact that he was a staunch Republican leading his party to a new era of progressivness. All opinions and comments herein contained are colored by his convictions, and even when not quoting him either directly or indirectly, the opinions here proclaimed are based upon his political convictions.
