Abstract
Christian mysticism, by theological definition, is the life of contemplative prayer and meditation by which a person achieves a supernatural love and knowledge of God as he really is. Over the centuries Christian mystics have explained the mystical life as the free gift from God in the Trinity. At the same time these men and women have had difficulty making the nuances of mysticism understandable to non-mystics.
