Abstract
Radio is a magic instrument of unity and power destined to link nations, to enlarge knowledge, to remove misunderstandings, and to promote truth. But it will not achieve these things unless we keep a more watchful eye on those who use it and those who control it. We should arouse in all people a greater sense of their responsibility for the proper use of this modern miracle. One of the distinguishing features of American democracy is the excellence of its common school system. Another name for common school is elementary school. Children who are engaged in the Kindergarten and the first eight years of their school-life, are said to be pupils of the elementary school. Thus by elementary school the following institutions are included: rural schools, city public schools, parochial schools, private school, state schools that may be the home of orphans or delinquents, state teacher-training schools, schools for abnormal children such as the blind, deaf, crippled, exceptional and subnormal, Kindergarten, and Pre-schools.
