Abstract
The history of the Salem Witchcraft Trials is little known and what little knowledge there is of the trials that has been gathered from secondary sources. In writing my thesis I too have been handicapped by the lack of original sources. However, I have done the next best thing to consulting the original sources, by following authors who have had access to these sources. Consequently, i took the liberty of using the source material found in Mr. Nevins book on Salem witchcraft as also the works of Mr. Taylor and Governor Hutchinson on the same subject. The works of these authors have been invaluable to me in writing my thesis and I take this opportunity to acknowledge their assistance.
