Abstract
In attempting to write a paper on any topic relative to dentistry a student is handicapped in that none of his statements are based upon actual practical experience. Necessarily all the information gathered must come from the literature on the subject that in its makeup is not too technical. Essentially, then, this thesis will be a restating of the writings of those investigators who presented their findings in the most simplified manner and to the mind of the student arrived at the most logical conclusions of their findings. It will be the author's attempt to so make use of the findings of other investigators on pyorrhha alveolaris and to write some of the interesting facts in the evolution of the treatment of pyorrhea alveolaris.
