Abstract
Entering upon a discussion of the requirements for Social Worker it might he well to have some clear and definite notions as to the meaning of Social Work. "The affair of social welfare is not a delimited field, like medicine or law for example, and it cannot safely be left to any specialized group of "professional experts", the body of knowledge about social relations and about the effects of the methods which have been tried for dealing with social problems and improving social conditions is by no means so authoritative or so comprehensive that such a procedure is wise.
