Abstract
The purpose of this thesis is to study the style of makeup and typography in the country weekly in order to arrive at certain conclusions, namely: (1) Do the newspapers follow a definite style of makeup or is it a merely nit-or-miss process, (2) Is the typography attractive and easy to read, (3) Does the makeup and typography give evidence that the paper is operated by a printer instead of editorially trained, (4) Is there a field for the graduate journalist in the weekly field.
