Abstract
Prosthetic dentistry, as far back as the archeologists have traced, had its beginning among the ancient Egyptians and Phoenicians. The ruins of the Eutruscan civilization, a civilization expert in gold working, disclosed several comparatively ingenious devices for the replacement of lost natural teeth with artificial ones. This, however, is ancient history and the complexity of the subject makes it necessary that we confine ourselves to modern prosthesis.
