Abstract

Going back to the early schools of the United States, we find that the only source of education was the formal classroom exercise. However, in comparing this situation with that of the present day, we now see a field of the so-called extra curricular activities. The regularly required book lessons, while they still have their importance, are inadequate in themselves in helping a youth build a firm social, physical, and spiritual foundation. One of the most significant developments for this phase of education is the school assembly period.
