Abstract
The publishing of a weekly newspaper is generally considered to be a profitable enterprise. However, like any other business it has its examples of outstanding financial successes and dismal failures. In such instances there are many factors which have determined the fate of the papers. Ignoring the editorial policies entirely, the purpose of this thesis will be to determine as far as possible the reasons for the financial destiny of the weekly from a business standpoint.
