Abstract
Historians have for the most part neglected, the Roman lady. They have made the history of the Roman Empire a chronicle of men’s activities and rightly so. It was the fathers, husbands, and brothers who fought for their rights and made Rome the most powerful nation, supreme over all the other countries in the world. The Romans engaged in commerce with the countries in the East and carried on a brisk intercourse with them, for which they became renowned.
