Abstract
Marriage and divorce have of late received a great deal of attention throughout the world. The recent Encyclical Letter of Hie Holiness Pope Pius XI, on Christian Marriage, has occasioned comment and considerable thought. Anyone desiring a full treatment of marriage and divorce should consult the Encyclical on Marriage. But yet I would be glad to have the reader attend to the thought that the reading of the Encyclical has stimulated in me. Perhaps a reading of this thesis will result in a strong desire on the readers part to write a thesis on this subject which will excel my thesis both in scope and treatment. It is my wish that such will be the result.
