Abstract
Since the Renaissance, Horace has continued to exercise a wide influence on the poetry of all modern nations, and especially on the poetry of England. Even before the Renaissance, in the poetry of Chaucer, we find at least a few traces of Horace - and these few from his didactic works which seem to have been the only part of his works that were then in much repute.
