Abstract
Viscosity is that property of a fluid by which it resists continuous deformation, especially characteristic of thick liquids. It is also variously defined as the resistance experienced by one portion of a liquid in moving over another portion, or the "internal friction" of the liquid. This property is the reciprocal of "fluidity", which is the measure of the tendency of a liquid to flow.
