Abstract
As is the natural sequence to the introduction of a new idea in the "business world, results follow that affect a change in the old order of affairs. It takes only a short time for something new to render old devices obsolete.
Such is the situation following the introduction of wirephoto into the picture service in the newspaper field. It is the purpose of this thesis to show what the picture service in Milwaukee was before the introduction of wirephoto and then to point out how this picture service was altered following the appearance of wirephoto.
While it is true that wirephoto is an immense improvement over the old system of photograph circulation, it still does not make the old system completely obsolete. This thesis, however, is intended to make clear whether the wirephoto system is much more effective by comparison with former times.
