Abstract
There is ample evidence that there were well-educated women in ancient India; yet, judging from this, the standard of education of Indian women today is not as high as it should be. Between ancient and present times, therefore, the education of women has undergone several major changes. It is the writer's purpose to make a study of the progress of women's education in India.
