Abstract

To be able to predict probable scholastic success is of extreme importance to educators . This prediction of probable success or failure, either general or specific, is of great value to the student as well. The problem to be solved is that of finding those factors which are the best predictive measurements of a student's aptitude and ability for academic subjects or for a given subject at a certain grade level. Much time and study have been devoted by educators and others to a possible solution of this problem, and since there is no general agreement on it no doubt much more time and effort will need to be devoted to it to establish some standards for prognosis.
