Abstract
One of the most significant currents in contemporary theology is the interpretation of Christian eschatology embodied in the theology of hope. Theology of hope, successor of secular theology, has received its main impetus from the work of the German theologian, Jurgen Moltmann, and especially from his book Theology of Hope. Wolfhart Pannenberg and Johannes Metz are also German theologians who are contributing to this movement in theology and their works have provided bases for Christian dialogue with such Marxist philosophers as Ernst Bloch and Roger Garaudy.
