Abstract

This paper describes research performed by the author while a member of the Applied Engineering Subsection of the Motor Starter Development Section of the Engineering Department of the Square D Company, Milwaukee, Wisconsin. The investigation was concerned with the elimination of a problem in the "powerplants" of some of the electromechanical switchgear devices (relays, contactors, starters, etc.) designed in this Section and elsewhere in the Square D Company.
