Abstract
This paper can be classified as a study in comparative economics. It is an industrial structure study contrasting the British and United States' brewing industries. Each industry is a small, but very significant part of the British and U.S. economies. The U.S. and the United Kingdom rank one and three in world beer consumption. As a whole, the structure of the British economy comes closer to resembling that of the U.S. than any other industrial free enterprise country in the world. Although the economies of both countries are similar, the structures of the two brewing industries are uniquely different. Because of this situation, I hope my comparison will have economic significance--especially in regard to performance.
