Abstract

Since each individual has his unique style of loving, I living, doing--being himself, educators have been concerned about discovering the best methods of assisting each student to develop his potential for growth. It is recognized that the student possesses these inherent qualities, traits and characteristics from his family background and his environment, as well as from his education and intelligence. Allport defines this "individuation" as the "formation of an individual style of life that is self-aware, self-critical, and self-enhancing."
