Abstract
As the need for water reuse increases, it is apparent that higher levels of water quality are going to be demanded. This demand of higher quality water will result in the further development of advanced wastewater treatment methods. Among many advanced wastewater treatment methods, the activated carbon treatment system is a potential method which appears to receive increasing consideration due to its simplicity and effectiveness in removing organic compounds from wastewater. However, the active carbon system is not a new process. Removal of objectionable taste and odors from water using activated carbon has been practiced for many years.
