Abstract
Driver education is rapidly becoming a permanent and supposedly a necessary part of the high school curriculum. The mobility of our society is forcing more and more people to seek a driver's license at an early age. What with suburban living, large urban communities, and the predominance of automobile usage in home and work activities, driving itself is on the increase. The consequential mounting death tolls on our streets and highways have forced society to look for ways to remedy the problem. It seems obvious that the use of the automobile will not diminish. Therefore, society is concentrating on other means such as improved roads, improved automobiles and driver education to check the highway death toll.
