Abstract

We are situated today in an age of renewal and its inevitable reactions. Progress in the fields of biblical theology, philosophy, psychology, as well as the whole ecumenical movement, force a realistic re-examination of the traditional positions. "The religious thinker must determine what is new and what is old in any given development and then endeavor to understand the relationship between the two poles. In the theology of sin today we notice this methodology at work." Balancing the definition of sin against some reflections on the revelation of sin in Genesis 1-11, it is hoped that a more meaningful concept of sin may unfold for the twentieth century Christian.
