Abstract

The main purpose of this study is to investigate the teachers 1 evaluation of the religion textbooks currently- used in Catholic high schools. The study investigates the degree of teacher satisfaction and dissatisfaction with the texts; the apparent cause for this through an evaluation of specific textual aspects of presentation and structure, and through a comparison of the evaluations of "new" and "old" texts; and finally, the importance of textual qualities desired by teachers in a hypothetically perfect text.
