Abstract

The value of Latin study has been a topic for much discussion. For some students it holds little interest; others revel with delight in the study of this language. Some students delight in the study of this language. Some students despite the daily battle with forms and syntax achieve well and leave class with great satisfaction; others cannot meet the challenge. These leave class greatly disillusioned or eventually drop out. Another group of students merely registers for the course because it is required. The writer undertook this study to determine whether or not the method of teaching Latin plays a role in achievement.
