Abstract
It is generally recognized that within the United States penal system there is a shortage of case workers, instructors, custody personnel, and supervisors in relationship to the number of inmates. Because of this lack of personnel, the inmates must spend more time confined to their cells and less time participating in supervised activities. It is the supervised activity period which is of interest to this author. It is the purpose of the author to show that psychodrama can be an activity which allows an inmate to spend a portion of the allotted "free time " in a profitable, active, and therapeutic manner.
