Abstract

Many of the realities of school administration are best learned by experiencing them. Field-based preservice programs in educational administration give the student an opportunity to employ educational theory in a school setting. It is during this activity that aspirants have the opportunity to acquire hands-on experience and feedback on performance. McIntyre (1983) sums up: "[This] is by far the most highly recommended program feature, especially when practitioners are asked to do the recommending."
