Abstract

The quality of nursing care vitally concerns all people. Advances in science, as well as advances in the socio- economic welfare, have heightened the public's expectations of both medicine and nursing. Also, notable alterations have taken place in the organization and structure patterns of hospitals including marked changes in equipment, physical plant, hospital routines and personnel policies. These factors, coupled with the increased patient admissions rate, demand a kind of quality control operation, heretofore not applied to health care.
