Abstract
This study is undertaken to analyze the attitudes of faculty members of six Catholic schools in the Kankakee rea of Kankakee County, prior to the initiation of a guidance program. The school system is connected with the Joliet diocese which encourages the initiation of a guidance program in its school system. The purpose of the study is to discover attitudes of the teachers toward such a program of this kind and to get their ideas and opinions as to what are the duties and what is the role of a counselor in the elementary guidance program.
