Abstract

While pursuing information pertinent to the United States business relations with Mexico, 1826-1832, it became evident that, for two countries so close in proximity, there was comparatively little business. The author surveyed several newspapers and official diplomatic correspondence. This knowledge led to a concentration on American shipping problems, particularly at Vera Cruz.
