Abstract
A description of a model for a peer counseling training program for American high school students abroad is given. A brief description of developmental issues facing American students abroad is provided, followed by a discussion on how peer counseling training might assist young people developmentally. A general analysis of the training program's effectiveness with a group of 11th and 12th grade students at the American Community School in Athens, Greece is given. Finally, areas for future research are discussed.
