Abstract
Research studies dealing with the effects of cardiac rehabilitation instruction from 1970 to the present were reviewed. Studies were as follows: effects of cardiac rehabilitation instruction, effects of individualized instruction, effects of group instruction, and comparative effects of group vs individual instruction. Implications for nursing practice and a summary of advantages and disadvantages of the instructional modes were presented. Tables were developed to summarize the research of cardiac rehabilitation instruction and the advantages and disadvantages of individual and group instruction.
