Abstract
Much reading research is being produced. A special 1974 issue of the Journal of Educational Research cited 4,777 articles of reading research printed from 1933 to 1973. From 1966 to 1979, the annual summaries of Reading Research Quarterly reported 5,800 articles printed. While there is a plethora of reading research material, the question arises, is reading research reaching the schools?
