Abstract
The review of the literature concerning standardized testing programs indicates that the major criticism of standardized tests is the fact that test results are misused. Parents, teachers, and counselors should have adequate knowledge when interpreting results, so that the individual student will benefit from such a program. The purpose of this study is to ascertain how parents and elementary teachers evaluate themselves concerning the amount and type of knowledge they have concerning standardized testing and to devise in-services on the basis of a needs assessment.
