Abstract

Since the publication of To Teach as Jesus Did, a pastoral letter of the National Conference of Catholic Bishops, in 1972 there has been an increasing amount of concern for the idea of teaching and administrative work in the Catholic schools being a form of ministry. This work can be viewed as ministry under the wider definition of the term operative since the Second Vatican Council which views ministry a call to service flowing out of each persons Baptismal commitment rather than restricting it to those who are ordained ministers of the Church.
