Abstract
Friedrich Nietzsche was born on October 15, 1844, in Reecken near Lutzen in the Prussian. province of Saxony. He was the son of a Lutheran minister. In his early childhood he was abnormally religious, and extremely pious. In school he was given the title "Little Minister.' He was named after the Prussian Monarch Frederick William, and thus developed an interest in war. He admired strong men, as did his whole family. His aristocratic upbringing taught him to feel superior to the mass of mankind.
