Abstract
In a phrase compressed ·in form but comprehensive in meaning, St. John the evangelist crystallizes a theme central to his thought within e verse central to his prologue. John knew experientially what it was to receive Christ, to believe in his name, to be called and to be a son of God, 3 for John had seen with his eyes, heard with his ears, and touched with his hands the Word of God forever fleshed, the Son now risen and returned to the Father.
