Abstract

A problem that faces every teacher or administrator every working day is one of tremendous importance to every parent and child. This is the all important factor called supervision. Along with this is another of equal importance, the progress of each individual child.

Parents and guardians take for granted that their children are supervised by a capable and responsible adult during the time the children are in school or are participating in activities during the recess and noon lunch periods. However, those persons not intimately participating in a school situation are not always aware of the problems involved in such a type of supervision.

There is also much concern over another predominant problem besides supervision of the recreation periods of the children during the school day. This problem pertains to the physical fatigue in the children after recreating for an hour at, for the most part, violent exercise. By this I mean full participation in sports, usually according to the season of the year.
