Abstract
The following presentation, while being submitted for approval as the final step in the requirements for a Master of Education Degree at Marquette University, is also a report, step by step, of a high school in action, trying to do its best in the 70's - days of change. While some may argue that this paper is devoid of outside quotes, references, and even statistical comparisons and diagrams, it should be noted that this was meant to be by the author. There may be a time when someone will take the final results and combine their findings into a statistical paper, but the author of this essay was mainly interested in the background, the identification with a problem, and the school's method of doing something about it. There is no pretense intended in this writing. It is hoped that anyone who reads it will conclude that the author: "Told it as it was and is".
