Abstract
It appears that an ever growing number of teachers is becoming interested in graduate study. Many, however, are not fully qualified, because of choice of undergraduate foreign language or other modifications of the undergraduate program, to enroll in a Master of Arts program. For these, many institutions of higher learning are offering a program of graduate work, calling it a Master of Education or a Master of Arts in teaching, a title adopted by some institutions to show the curriculum is of a practical nature. While reasons for entry into graduate programs and purposes of study differ, one thing remains constant, i.e., certain courses are required for completion of degree work. These course requirements, in many cases, are presenting a problem to prospective master students, who lack background either by degree of intensity or complete lack of undergraduate work.
