Abstract

The main purpose of this study was to investigate the effectiveness of teaching spelling to second grade pupils by a method which stresses visual memory as a fundamental requisite to good spelling ability as compared with a conventional workbook-oriented spelling program. A further purpose of the study was to explore the merits of using the method with large groups.
