Abstract
This essay will discuss one of the elements which introduces instability into the structure of mathematics, namely the infinite. The essay does not pretend to be even the beginnings of a comprehensive survey or study of a question which has occupied philosophers, theologians, and mathematicians since before Aristotle and is the most vital issues of modern mathematics.
