Abstract
The life of Marie Louise was in reality a link in the long chain of contention and strife which separated two powerful nations on the continent of Europe for nearly a hundred years. The Free , ruled by the Bourbons and later controlled byte Revolutionists and finally subjected by Napoleaon, were at constant odds with a Hapsburg ruled Austria. Most of their emneties originated in family quarrels between the Hapsburgs and Bourbons. Reconciliations were usually short-lived.
