Abstract

This study constitutes an attempt to determine what the nature of Knolles' influence upon Byron was, particularly as that influence might be shown in "The Oriental Tales." As such, the investigation is probably the first to deal in any detail with this subject, and one of the few devoted to the influence of Byron's reading on his poetry.
