Abstract

The purpose of this thesis is to promote the use of the K matrix poles. First, the behavior of the poles of the K matrix will be examined by studying the examples of a square well and an exponential potentials at all energies and at zero angular momentum (1=0). Secondly, the Poles of the K matrix will be investigated at several non-vanishing angular momenta as a function of energy for a square well potential. The results will be presented in the order : (1) Introduction ; (2) The K matrix poles for a square well potential with zero angular momentum; (3) The K matrix poles for a square well potential with higher angular momentum; ( 4) The K matrix poles for an exponential potential with zero angular momentum; (5) Conclusion.
