Abstract
This thesis is concerned with a descriptive study of the nuclear and cytoplasmic division in Euglena gracilis var. bacillaris Pringsheim with special reference to (1) chromosome formation and division, (2) the origin of the motor organelles, (3) the presence of a centriole or division center.
