Abstract

Recently, it has been observed in experiments that, under certain conditions, the speed of pulses of light appears to exceed c, the speed of light, as does the propagation of pulse-modulated microwave signals through short sections of cutoff waveguide. To find an acceptable explanation for the above phenomena, studying transient oscillation is the first step. In this thesis, three oscillators, including transistor oscillators, Gunn diode oscillators and reflex klystron oscillators, were investigated for their transient performance.
