Abstract

This thesis is based upon evidence procured from settlers who have lived in Racine County all their lives, and to whom has been handed down a history of living memories. The work is further substantiated by other authors who have delved much deeper into the origin of these regions than my limited time would allow, but I believe that I have obtained facts which would probably never have been known but to a limited quantity of the inhabitants hereabouts. I found that most of the inhabitants were more than willing to give up time and energy in my quest for material, and this proved the loyalty and devotion which these men and women had for their county.
