Abstract
The sensitivity of the Adjective Generation Technique to changes in anxiety following a progressive relaxation session was described for 13 undergraduates who reported significantly less anxiety following a relaxation procedure. Scores correlated .79 with the Spielberger State Anxiety Scale. The advantages of using the adjective technique for assessing the effectiveness of relaxation training were discussed.
